On Wednesday, October 7, we hosted Janez Cigler Kralj, Minister of Agriculture. He spoke with representatives of our group, Boštjan Jerončič and Matjaž Bajc, about the development of the food processing industry, food security, workforce challenges, and the competitiveness of the Slovenian economy. The minister emphasized the importance of strong domestic companies for the country’s food sovereignty.

We presented our development path, technological investments, the digitization and automation of production, and our ambitious plans for the future to our guests. We also devoted considerable attention to the issue of human resources, as modern industry requires new skills and closer integration between the economy and the education system. We also impressed the ministers with our courage and perseverance, as our director, Boštjan Jerončič, emphasized during the meeting: »Sometimes in business, people give up too quickly. But we believe in perseverance. Even when we encounter obstacles, we look for solutions and keep moving forward.«

During the discussion, we also highlighted the impact of increasingly stringent European regulations on business operations. There was broad agreement that innovation, robotization, digitization, and investment in people will be key to further development. The visit took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, where we had the opportunity to present our work, achievements, and development ambitions, as well as to highlight the challenges facing the Slovenian food industry. »Visits like this are important because they facilitate direct dialogue between the business community and decision-makers.«
